This photo made me think about cats my mom’s friend used to have. Two beautiful Persian tabby cats who were all over you once they get to know you. I went for a visit one day and to my very unpleasant surprise the cats were not there. Later I found out their daughter in law was about to have a baby so they gave them away. I remember being so mad about it. How could they just give them away? Two cats who lived with them for years. But, I guess the cats in the cradle superstition is always present.
After this I did some research on the matter and, as I thought giving the cats away was unnecessary. As house cats they were vaccinated and clean there for no treat to a new born baby. Of course not all cats react the same to a major change like a baby. Some cats tend to hide in a quiet place where they feel safe, while others insist on doing the things the way they use to, but with a proper introduction cats and children go perfectly together. Just look at all the pictures of cats and babies.

I completely agree. People who refuse to take care of animals just because they believe in some old superstition don’t deserve to have babies at all. You should have slapped her friend silly.

I know. The worst thing that 2 month after the baby was born they moved to their own apartment which of course made me mad as hell but oh well it’s not like i could have done anything. I hope the cats have a better home now with someone who won’t give them away for a stupid reason. what reason? Wont give them away period.
