I can’t remember the last time I laughed that hard. She kept on asking “Why are they doing that? Why are they doing that?” and sounded so freaked out that I had to go over and prove to her there is nothing wrong with her two tabby cats.

Some experts say that this is pure and simple frustration because they see the prey they can’t get to. On the other hand some think that the “chatter” simulates the cat’s behavior at the time of attack. All I know is those funny cat sounds are not a sign of a seizure or a sign that your pet cats have gone crazy like my friend thought.

It’s normal for a cat to feel insecure or frightened at times. Visitors, noise, other animals, children or even a visit to a vet can cause such a behavior in cats. Often out pet cats flee, hide, or freeze like this little fellow. Some cats become so frightened that they lose control of their bladder or bowels. Each cat has a it’s own way of dealing with a crisis. One way of reacting is aggression which includes a lot of hostile cat sounds, spitting, puffing fur and tail along with back arching, flattening ears and tail switching, but can also include biting and scratching.

Most people react to this by punishing their cat which usually brings to more fearfull behavior. If you know what’s your cat afraid of, do not force it to face her fears. You should just allow your pet to do it on it’s own terms. Of course what’s most important is that you handle your cat very carefully when it’s frightened because it may accidentally direct it’s aggression to you.

If this is something new you might consider taking your cat for an examination. Cat’s don’t always act sick, even when they are. Bites and scratches are serious because they can be infected easily, and you are at risk of getting a cat scratch disease. It’s in your cat’s and yours best interest to consult a specialist and make sure you’re cat’s health is not in jeopardy.

I found this in pictures of cats, and it reminded me of endless discussions about whether cats are capable of love. Well I cant claim all cats are, but of course neither are all humans. All I know is that cats give their love back to people who love them. One of my grandmothers funny cats knew the sound of my car and she would rush back home to greet me no matter where she is. She would climb up my clothes, wrap her little arms around my neck, lick my face while rubbing her head against mine.

A friend of mine calls this “iams cat food syndrome” and keeps on telling me how pet cats only show you affection if you give them food. As someone who adores cats and someone who has been loved by a cat I know that’s not true. Cat’s affection does not depend on treats and iams cat food like my friend said. Clinical evidences show that mere presence and/or touch of a preferred person have been shown to reduce the heart rate of these animals – which is a sign of bonding.

Cats who live with humans since they were born often consider themselves almost human or their humans almost cats. They are known to bring dead animals as proof of their love and care. They follow their “owners” around the house and wait for them when they are gone. My funny cat used to sit on a table next to the window for hours waiting for me to come home. If that is not love I don’t know what it is.

Of course there’s a lot more. From cat kisses, squinting, cute cat sounds, rubbing their had against you, kneading and purring to the ultimate sign of trust – lying on their back. This is probably the greatest sign of love and trust from a cat. With it’s stomach exposed your cat is in it’s most vulnerable position.

There’s an old English proverb that goes: “The cat has nine lives – three for playing, three for straying, and three for staying.” I always liked it, and it always comes to mind when i see my funny cats playing with boxes. One of my pet cats claimed this new cat litter box as her bed, before i even had a chance to use it what it was ment for.

I tried to find why pet cats do that but no answer yet. I guess they like the cosines, security and privacy something that looks like home they were born in. I love seeing them playing with boxes, scratching, running in and out of it, making all those funny cat sounds while pretending they are hunting anything or anyone walking around their little fortress.

Of course toys for cats are nothing compared to a simple cardboard box with holes to jump through or to track and unsuspecting human from. A box can provide fantastic position to hide in anticipation of surprising attacks.

I love tabby cats. Probably because I’ve had more than 5 so far but still, there is something about them. This one reminds me of my funny cat. She used to grab my neck with her front two paws, and kiss my cheek with her sandpaper-like tongue. Unfortunately I don’t have a picture with her doing that, in my pictures of cats, because no one thought it was cool as much as I did. I remember my sister always used to laugh saying “see even your funny cats think you need a bath.”

So what’s the deal with this kissing or licking?
Grooming is a very important part of cat’s everyday routine and they spend a large part of their grooming themselves. Kittens often use their tongue to taste new things. Studies show that the cat’s sense of taste is keener than that of the dog and that use their tongue to learn about things by licking them. Cats also do it to show their affection just like with their kittens. They do it to keep them healthy and to show them they are loved.

For some pet cats licking is a form of comforting behavior and is linked with the cat kneading its paws (paw pressing) on its owner. This is very common for cats that were separated from their mothers before 12 weeks of age. If cat is in pain or dying, she uses this as a method of comforting itself. Pet Cats use pawing along with purring to show their affection and contentment but also to mark their territory. Scent glands on their paws release small amounts of scent onto the person or object being pawed, marking it as “theirs.” Also yawning in front of their owners and blinking behavior is common in cats and may be a sign of trust or affection.

Have you ever wonder why our pet cats forget about the cat in the mirror so fast? You know, when after all the fuss and jumping, hissing and scratching and those freaky cat sounds, they just go away. Cat’s fight over a lot of things. But one of the reasons is smell, and since the cat in the mirror has no scent your pet cats loose their interest pretty fast.

My funny cat used to fight with a mirror all the time. Unless I’m holding her, then she just stares at her image staring back. She would just sit there growling with a mean look on her cute little face trying to scare the “other cat” away. Of course she looked just as mean and serious. She never gave up on fighting the mirror cat, and judging by some funny pictures of cats I’ve seen lately not all pet cats lose interest in mirrors after a while.

I always loved watching my pet cats playing. I love seeing them running around, tumbling and most of all I love playing with them.

Why do cats do it? First, they are practicing their hunting skills. Come on, we all love games. Our funny cats are no different. Playing is a positive way for your pet cats to release negative energy or aggression, so you should play with them as much as you can, or provide something for them to play with. There are so many toys for cats now, so this shouldn’t be a problem, but there is one thing you should pay attention to. Don’t leave them playing alone with strings, plastic bags or anything small enough to swallow because they probably will. It also helps your cat maintain it’s healthy weight and obesity is a serious cat health problem.

These two tabby cats remind me of a cat I had a long time ago. She was playing 24/7. Alone, with one of us, strings, balls, toys, even my moms curtains. Of course mom didn’t find it funny at all but that didn’t stop her. I always loved those crazy cat sounds she was making while watching birds through the window. Funny enough her favorite toy was an ordinary pen. She would sit on my desk while I’m doing homework biting the pen I’m using or going through my pen case for hours. She was one funny little cat.

How many times have you found your pet cats in one of these totally crazy positions? I don’t think I can remember the last time I saw my funny cats in a normal sleeping position.

If you think your cat sleeps to much I have a news for you. Only about 25% of that time used for deep sleep. That’s probably the best time to get your camera out and make some funny pictures of cats for your collection. The rest of the time is just a cat nap or light sleep. Still even this light sleep provides a necessary energy boost for your pet cats.

Cat pictures like this one always remind me of my grandmother’s funny cats. They are usually hanging from somewhere or you can find them in a tiny box all twisted. Surprisingly enough they are purring or “talking” in their sleep making the funniest cat sounds you can imagine.

Well, not really sing but they are extremely vocal. Siamese Cats are known for their voice known as “Meezer.” This reminded me of a neighbor’s cat. Very cute, very playful and very, very, very loud and funny cat. I remember being all stressed out watching her on the 10th floor window meowing her heart out when her “owner” is not at home. I was so afraid that she might fall.

She would sit there for hours just waiting and calling her I guess cause I hardly ever heard her “talking” when there’s someone in the house. Of all the cats I met in my life that one was probably the loudest one, and I love cat sounds.
